Most wolves in North America are found in Alaska and Canada.  Their paws are designed to travel easily through a wide variety of terrains, especially snow.  That must help Ilza, since she and Lazoo live way in the mountains.
Wolves weigh from 55 to 143 pounds.  They appear heavier than they really are because they have a bulky coat made of two layers.  The first layer consists of tough gaurd hairs designed to repel water and dirt.  The second is a dense, water resistant undercoat that insulates.
