Return to Animal Land-
Adventures of Johnny & Joey
Reviews:
Pol McShane has a way of making the reader a part of the adventure with his vivid detail, writing style, and his ability to tell a story.  As I read, I find myself right in the middle of the adventure, as if I were an invisible character in the book.  This installment in the Johnny & Joey adventures left this reader wanting more.
Return to Animal Land-The Adventures of Johnny and Joey is indeed an adventure.  After a suprise visit by Darus the ostrich, Johnny and Joey learn there is trouble in Animal Land and their help is needed.  But making it back is no easy task, since neither one can rememeber which button in the magic elevator will take them to where they're help is needed.  Along the way there are many adventures, several stops in unfamiliar lands, and friends to be made.
Finally, they make it back, but find Animal Land is nothing like it was on their last visit.  Johnny and Joey must gather up bravery seldom seen in boys of their age as they take on Teron, the evil grizzly, and his equally evil sidekick, Crash, a bighorn ram.  Excitement abounds as the boys help put together a plan.  Shock overtook this reader as the adventure came to a close, leaving one hungering for the next adventure, and wondering how the cliffhanger in
Return to Animal Land will be resolved.
